Copper and Steel Teapot Side

Description

This is my Raised Copper and Steel Teapot, but with a new and better picture.
This is the side view.
This is a completely functional copper and steel teapot, tinned on the inside.
It's pretty large, I'll post the dimensions when I get it back. I think the round part measures 5 inches in diameter... but I really don't remember. I started with an 8 inch disk for the bottom of the teapot, then sank and planished the top bit to fit.

Hot forged the steel handle and riveted with copper rivets (the one in the back is larger than the ones on the lid's handle and the front parts of the handle).

This is my first time blacksmithing anything to fit a specific design.
I drew a to-scale drawing of the form before I started making it, and it is almost exactly like my original design.

The lid can rest in two positions-- "closed" is for when you're heating water, and once it's hot, you can rotate the lid to the "open" position so steam can escape and the tea can steep and cool simultenaously.

Spout doesn't drip, which is awesome~~

I'm really proud of this piece, and hope to get it into some shows next year. We'll see.
